Some coincidence of theme here for me – speak re of highways and trucks – went to Kaniva yesterdey arv with a local and it was my idea and the idea was crap especially given the transports on the road. If the weather was better and the road surface ok going there – seriously, no aquaplaning – the idea might have seemed better. I was seriously petrified. I was silenced on the issue of serious swerving to dodge a poor little bird – so I’m the cruel poor fucker – so that’s never going to happen again with me in that front passenger seat on a country road.
It’s Friday arv. Pink drinks all round and top shelf on me on the tab please, Merv for chasers. Go for it, piglets. Three cheers for us.

Somehow I wouldn’t like to be the bus there. Middle child almost has its licence. Every time we go out for a driving lessons it is just amazing how some manage to get their licences. The are some seriously bad drivers on the road. Still we use their examples to work on the road rules.
I’d avoid the bird provided its safe to do so otherwise I’d hit it. Its the question of safety. And no you’re not cruel, the serious swerve suggests it wasn’t safe.
Anyhow cheers shoe, make mine a Trotters.

Agree with Algy. The thing to do it toot the horn. You can nearly always see bird/s on the road quite a distance away. Learners swerving ! – way to lose control of the car.
I’m having a sherry already Shoe. Ta.

Reading through your comments really is such great companionship. Day this morning has dawned clear and sunshine so I will be getting out to soak up some of that bright. I hope you all have a safe and fun week-end. I have high hopes I will accomplish sunshine tasks that need doing. Recall of missing brethren and those who are lost. I hope they are all doing well. Kangaroo pies ha ha ha.

We went from weeks of gloom, cold and windy and wet (don’t mind the rain) to a few days of sun but with big frosts. Yesterday back to the gloom. Today, sunny and not frosty. Forecast for weekend cloudy with sun peeking through. Daughter having a pork spit roast party tomorrow. I’m about to head off and pick up the pork for her (from my village butcher).

Sound great vivienne, love the sound of a pork spit.
Its not been gloomy here just windy at times. Mornings have been cold until last Wednesday. Looks like they might be a bit crisp next week. Though the days will be Spring like. Haven’t had anything resembling decent rain since March. Even todays was notthing more than a mm.

Yes Algy – we watched NSW ABC news of an evening and catch the forecasts and note the lack of rain. It’s a complete change for us – plenty of rain for a change. Enjoying it while we can.

I noticed our Liquid amber in the backyard has had its first bud burst today almost unheard of in July and about three weeks early. Noticed the jasmine is flowering as well normally first week in September, jumped up to 21 briefly but went down to 18 very quickly.
