I possess a Jimmy Cliff vinyl album from the 70s. Never heard him on radio here then. He’s lovely to listen to and dance.

I have some Jimmy Cliff on a giveaway out of Rolling Stone late 70’s I think. The old 2JJ then 2JJJ used to play him a lot. Heard him a bit in the UK also. This ones a sweet tune.

I bought a lot of Albums from a music store on Circular Quay in the 70s. I could listen to stuff before buying it. The blokes who ran it were lovely. I spent many lunch breaks there when I wasn’t having fresh oysters,grilled sole and coleslaw and chips and a few wines with my boss at the basement tavern further along the key.

The Island Trader. The fish was bloody lovely. I don’t think I ever had anything else but the fish. A carafe of moselle was an outrageous $1.20 if I remember correctly.

There was a music store at Hornsby that had all sorts of wonderful music often not mainstream. Used to spend a lot of time there. They’d play a lot of reggae too. I know you probably couldn’t do that too much at the quay now without paying a fortune. Though we’ve discovered a great little Indian which doesn’t charge a fortune when we go to show.

The one I bought is Jimmy Cliff Unlimited. Includes The Price of Peace, Oh Jamaica, On My Life, Under the Sun Moon and Stars. Back in those days I rode a bike and when I had a car it did not have a radio (or a heater – old EJ). I installed a radio.

Anything pre the mass of Japanese cars with the accessories didn’t have exotic things like heaters or radios. My understand was the Holden Special was just that because it had these mod cons.

Just looked at Wiki, says Black Betty is a re-worked Leadbelly song and the next two albums flopped as a new guitarist was added who played a heavier style.

We left last night and arrived home this morning. Just as hot here but nowhere near as humid. Sydney the week before we went was just like Bali maybe just a bit cooler of a morning. Very refreshed. Tomorrows a new day, new boss a recalcitrant direct report.

I get that from time to time. I remeber a list where a few were blocked yet OK a few dsys before. I checked the whole set a few weeks ago and replaced those which were blocked. I find that too with new band though sometimes they’ve been around a while.
