Where do you go to my lovely Vale Peter Sarstedt

Well I’ve just have a lovely couple of hours. Done the list and a lot of diversions – Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins (on RocKwiz last night), John Denver, Peter Paul and Mary and more. Wonderful, enjoyable, soothing and happy memories.

Always a diversion with these and you can end up in places you didn’t think. The was mostly the female artists this one and plenty of Nina Simone. One I like very much

Cripes, I’ve got mixed up – It is Sarah Storer who is our local !!! The two Aussie singer songwriters actually look a lot alike (well to me anyway).

Very very nice. Except…I have discovered that I am not a fan of Adele.
The dummy in the album photo looks a lot like Gerry Gee – Ron Blasket’s doll from way back.

Agree 100%. I sat through it to get an idea of some newer music. She can sing but her songs seem lame especially after Steely Dan and King Crimson.

Brilliant list, Algy. Many thanks. Sad to hear that Peter Sarstedt has pass on. The internet said he was 75 and in a nursing home for the last few years with a brain deterioration condition misdiagnosed as dementia. There’s another version of “Where do you go to my lovely ?” recorded in 2005. How enduring are the great songs of our youth !

I just watched this Clary Browne clip. I have to go and take a cold shower again ! And what a voice – a lot like the late great Amy Winehouse, I reckon.

That in the words of Foodge is not what I intended to say. ‘Lovely numbers’ I did mean.

I agree ‘Shoe. Another good thing about Algy’s playlists is that not failing to enjoy Algy’s pick, but still valuing the things that they lead to – e.g. Mary Hopkins and other artists of Peter Starstedt’s times.

The photos with the best of are meant to be well a bit bizarre, like what were you really thinking with that. They’re meant for a laugh. I do have a few favourites that I repeat from time to time. Some of the religious ones I find are innocent enough but the obvious double entendre makes some of them sound well….
