Happy hour and a long weekend to boot. Time to rest and recuperate or to get on top of those things that might be getting to some of us. Laughter is often said to be the best medicine.
I hope you enjoy this small collection.
ALGY

I watched an episode of Benny Hill recently and yes not very PC these days and agree Python forever

Monty Python seems to transend the generations. My kids love it and the likes of Fawlty Towers too. I thinl Benny Hill may lack PC for them though.

Whatever Warrigal’s health downer is at the moment, I do hope he is catching up with things at the Pigs Arms and knows that we all want him to perk up ASAP. I sent some photos which I thought might be uplifting but in fact were not suitable unelss Warrigal was a woman ! I did have one funny (?) recipe but again it just wasn’t suitable for a bloke! So, instead all I can do is send some kisses and hugs. xxx ooo xxx ooo xxx ooo

About the photos and recipe I mean.

P.S. I’d like to distance myself from the wish for a perky Warrigal. That’s probably not what Vivienne meant anyway.

To become more cheerful. More lively. I did indeed mean perky, perk up.

Not to be confused with pert, I suppose.

Seems some of us speak different Aussie dialects – words have different local usage and meanings. God knows what Voice thought I might have meant !

Oh no Vivienne, it’s not that I thought you meant something else, exactly. I probably expressed myself poorly. I more wanted to distance myself from the imposition of any pressure to be perky.

If you thought I intended any pressure to perk up Voice you have indeed read too much into my comment.

can we refocus on benny hill please ?

Well if we’re talking about Benny Hill, Vectis, it could both pert and perky.

I saw him live once. it was in a small studio, when they filmed one of the TV programmes. A friend of mine was dating Debbie, one of ‘The Hills Angels’, and he forced me to accompany him The party afterwards was hard going.

No I didn’t Vivienne. That’s why I said it’s probably not what you meant .. Hopefully we are spiralling towards the centre, not just going around in circles. 🙂

“Spiralling in towards the centre” Voice? Or ‘going down the gurgler’?

What’s all this about Warrigal? Has something happened, that I am ignorant of???

First time I ever heard Sgt Bilko’s first name! (Although here it’s ‘Private’ Bilko, apparently; must be an early episode!)

Algy, why can’t we make comedy shows like the Monty Python and Benny Hill anymore, the good old days.
I have not changed the shows have…
