Thanks, Emmjay, love the Ry, but it forced me to look for Ted Green, who was probably the greatest jazz guitarist who ever lived (RIP), and was a consultant on many of Ry Cooder’s albums.

Yes, bit of a Ry fan. Just wondering though, is he just plain Ry?

Were you thinking Wry or rye, Hung ? His real name is Ryland Cooder. Sound a bit Arkansas or Tennessee to me. No wonder he prefers the shorter version.

You’re very welcome, Algy. Same for Viv. I found (and lost) a really good one with Taj and Ry – found it on my phone one early insomniac morning – but I cannot for the life of me find it now. There’s really a lot of Ry Cooder clips on Youtube – hence it’s easy to ask the wrong search question.

Paris, Texas, what a memorable movie that was, and Ry Gooder’s haunting music made it even more so. I don’t think Wim Wenders has made anything but good films.
Listened to my favourite old Cuban boys, Buena Vista Social Club, lovely people, lovely music…
Also enjoyed Ry with Ali Farka Toure…will come back for more later on…the kids are here, so it has to be in dribs and drabs….
Thanks, Emmjay!
