I appreciate watching the changing seasons through the camera eye at the location of this disaster. There is something soothing watching too evidence of work being done to rescue the environment.
On the bright side, I see they’ve just demolished an old nuclear power plant in Kent to make way for a new ‘green energy’ production site… didn’t hear what type of ‘green energy’, though; maybe that’s still being decided…
That’s really lovely. I find that people here have had stronger opinions than I expected them too. But the question of nuclear power is a troublesome one. With almost all the nuclear power stations shut down, there is a question of whether Japan can make a recovery. Tokyo had power shortages last year, but a lot of other places didn’t. I think that was a mistake – a lot of people didn’t physically experience the troubles, and don’t have that experience to inform their thinking, about nuclear disaster or about personal hardship.
Yep! One year on and they’re still trying to convince us nuclear energy is a cheap and safe source of clean energy… as long as one ignores the cost, the damage to human life and call radioactivity ‘clean’…
Put a windmill in my backyard ANY day… but keep your nukes to yourself!
