G’day, piglets all!
Some of you may have notice that this week’s episode of ‘Bilitis’ is a little overdue… I do apologise and will post it within the next coupla days… (my next episode of ‘Virgil’s Aeneid’ is also overdue on my own blog, as is the next ‘Bilitis’ ep…) It’s because I’ve been working on a new blues number called ‘Down to the Station’.
Some of you may also have noticed my conversation with Algae, in which I promised to post a new blues tune I’ve been working on… As it turned out, I thought that a link to just a tune is a bit boring, so I had a search of youtube to see if I could find some appropriate movie footage to go along with it…
Here’s the result, my dear piglets, may I present for the first time ever, the premier viewing of Astyages’ new movie, “The Great Train Race – Down to the Station”:
Enjoy!
Asty

Something going wrong again at the moment with receiving videos. I am sure it is wonderful. xxxooo

No worries boss… I still have a couple of train songs in my repertoire and lots more footage of these lovely old locomotives… but it may take a while; I need to do fresh recordings of them, I think… then find the right footage to go with the right song… but at least this time I’ll know in advance which sound and video editing program works and which ones won’t… (Hint to any aspiring moviemakers out there, the only free movie and audio editing software out there for Windows 7 is Windows Live Movie Maker, not to be confused with Windows Movie Maker, which doesn’t quite do what you need it to…)
I’ve also just received the two new blues courses I ordered from Griff Hamlin: ‘Acoustic Blues Guitar Unleashed’ and ‘Delta Blues Slide Guitar’ so I wanna see what’s in there too… gotta be lots of good train-chuggin’ music in ’em I reckon!
But next time at least I’ll have the advantage of knowing how to use the software (more or less!)

I love train travel and we have taken the Bowral- Sydney trip many times. I still can’t get over the enterprising funeral director somewhere along the railway line near Bargo who has erected a large blue sign on his roof advertising his burial business. How many train travelers would write down the number for future use? Also, he converted his backyard into coffin manufacturing with an assortment of many showing their different stages of progress with some having been finished with lacquer and chrome handles etc. The finished ones were stacked under a rather shonky looking roof as if at earlier times it might have been used for a chicken pen. Well, someone has to cater for the dearly departed. Good luck to the funeral Director.
Lovely music Asty!

Well… it’s an interesting experiment for me, Algae, anyway. With luck it might get a few hits… blues are popular; steam trains are popular and the FS is the most popular one of all time! If it looks like a success, I have a couple more train songs and a whole lot more really cool footage of these lovely old locos…

I must admit I liked steam trains and still do. You weren’t a trainspotter in earlier years were you. On the hits I found one of elfin like North Korean kiddies playing oversized Spanish guitars. They were very good but clearly malnourished. It had nearly 6 million hits.
