Brilliant wasn’t it. Just think if they had they not left on the ship waited and found out Spicks and Specks had gone to No. 1 they may never have left Australia. Wouldn’t be the same on the RSL tour.

I love James Brown’s It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World, and Tom Jones belting out Love me Tonight…
God, some of those women were soo beautiful…young Audrey Hepburn…heavenly.
Dusty Springfield and the Son of a Preacherman…good…this is just for starters..

I had some difficulty with picking a Tom Jones that wasn’t just pop from this period. Given my love for 60’s and 60’s soul this was one of the easier lists to put together. As for Dusty I could have her on any list.

Great stuff. James Brown led me onto listening to Joss Stone do the same song…bloody gorgeous.

This selection is a stand-out for the uniformity of sound and rhythm you managed to paste together, akgy. Your experience is showing. Thank you for the sounds.

I’m using a different keyboard. So many typos. So little time, algy.

Soul is probably the most consistent of all the musical genres, though Dusty Springfield and Tom Jones are both British. Dusty of course recorded in Memphis. Much of this is Motown influenced.

A seminal part of soul music in the 60’s as is the last Tracks of my tears.
