Gerard posted a blog with the same name, so I had to add something to mine. Liked those in the middle, the Archie Roach is a favourite.

Chad Morgan’s Sheik of Scrubby Screek is a benchmark, Alge. How we wimmin got through our teens searching for someone from Scrubby Creek like him yet in vain I dunno. I went off to the Yewnerversity with the profoundest belief the fellow would materialise and sweep me off my flip flops. Oh well… 😉

Shoe, there was a feature on Chad Morgan on Landline (it’s my homework for work) recently. He was hilarious, though I’m sure he’s an acquired taste. The sheik’s a ripper.

Astyages, read your critique with interest. I am sure you are wrong. As well it’s jandals in NZ so I gave a lot of thought whether I would use flip flops or thongs and I promise you where I grew up, in North Queensland, flip flops they were called and it sounds funnier to be swept off your flip flops than off your thongs, on grounds of logic that in contemporary Oz it surely sounds odd to describe the act I intended to communicate given a thong is now an item of underwear. Many of our younger readers would not have any idea what the Sheik of Scrubby Creek’s style was if I had said thongs, asty. Please.
The Sheik might have been risque, but ladies keep their thongs on. 😉

I hitch hiked through Italy and Switserland just on thongs and a stringbag. One thong broke its little pad that fitted between toes. I stuck a nail through the rubber bit and it went on for another couple of days till I reached Naples and then bought a new pair. I wore thongs on my feet only, never tried fitting them as underpants.

Gez, I imagine you’ve got a skinny little arse (sorry Helvi I had to for the purposes of veracity) and likely patching up your rubber thongs to wear as underwear would be evidence of an unexpected change in philosophical direction (underwear!) or an awkward oxymoron. It certainly sounds like opportunity for an identity crisis missed well done. 😉
