In between Days – The Cure

A lot of drama in the selection, Algy. For a’ that, I would give it to The Clash for setting dramatic effect .. Think back that the piano on Style Council has great tuning that reminds me of pitching for a vocal note by looking across the top of it rather than at it. Not sure what to make of The Cure. I get stirred by the theatre of it all tonight anyway. On way notice this, algy.

Back to the top: That’s Entertainment and Paris Match, The Jam and The style Council, both enjoyable.
Every time I come upstairs, I’ll listen to two off the list 🙂

Actually I did not know the Jam one. Style Council – so good but I always adored Shout to the Top – the music more than the song. The kind of music which really gets into me – love it.
I should be doing more pruning but got sick of being pricked by that grevillia (rosemaryfolia).

More style and subtle yet oomphy stuff in the past. Very little new stuff inspires me. Can’t stand rap and all that rude black music. Lady GaGa gets it – does old stuff and appears with the Stones and she is only 24 or thereabouts. Pop Asia music – lovely I guess but all starts to sound the same too often and the boys are prettier than the girls !!! 🙂 Did you know that the John Farnham and whatshisname from the Commodores was sold out and was a blast.

Springsteen – the River – great. But I do so adore Hungry Heart and Dancing in the Dark.
(Stuff the pruning – just grows back anyway.)

Funny thing happened last week – driving in my car listening to my Dragon cd, switched back to ABC radio only to hear the same song I just heard – thought I was going off for a moment.

At least when you talk with yourself no-one talks about or give you grief. I’m cool with that.

I do try for something different each time you know Vivenne hence The Paris Match. That’s Entertainment had to be the theme song this week though.

Of course and it’s perfect what you do. Because going to Style Council on YouTube means you are reminded of other songs and listen to more. Excellent.

Meanwhile the rack of lamb is ready to go in the oven – vegies prepped. I’m ready for a nice sherry and I’ll be turning off soon.

The River is my favourite.(Bruce Springsteen.) Beautiful song, agonisingly simple, but a masterpiece of haunting music.

I think I must be a bit of a closet Springsteen fan, much of his work has this simplicity.

I was listening to most of these bands over the last couple of weeks, algy setting up a scene in my head of the background to music I was hearing in Auckland 1983 through to say 1990. So little time. So much to be nerdy about. I will get into these tomorrow. Many thanks for putting on a gig in the Ballroom, algy. Hitting the sack, Goodnight, piglets.

You’ve done it again Algy. Think I will listen to these (not new to me thank you) tomorrow. The tumble dryer is in full mode in the background. We’ve had good rain.

I’m getting a bit sick of all that rain…still everything looks nice and lush, and no constant watering needed.

Thought these would have been familiar to everyone. Not much rain here though, threatening a bit but that’s all.
