As a matter of coincidence, an adult friend went to the movies recently in Dubai to see ‘The Wind Rises’, an animation about a man who designed jet fighter planes during Second World War I gather (dimly) from googling. She said it was terrible. I watched a trailer. It was sure a terrible shock. The characters all look in it as if they are derived out of Peter Pan and Wendy animation. Has anybody seen this?

I know Vollenweider’s White Winds 1984 very well. One of my charges was given a copy that he treasured. He played it over and over when he was 14. He and I often sat talking with it playing.

Algy, Sorry it’s taken me so long, but thanks for the Lands Dept. article from Azimuth. I haven’t had the chance to read it since Mike forwarded it to me, but I will get around to it soon.
And as usual, a great list to provide sonics for a Sunday afternoon.
Thanks again

Thanks Waz, though might enjoy that, Its from a surveyors perspective of course with so much Surveying history tied to the building.
Glad you enjoy the music too.

Neil Young’s “Like a Hurricane” is so not like a hurricane – more like a zephyr through the corn.
Great pics as always, Algy.
I’m looking forward to your take on gospel music.

Wind as soul food; Billy Cobham’s “Crosswinds” from 1974. The whole album is perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
“Try it!! You’ll be so glad you did!”

Like Viv, I’m all full of Eurovision, even I know who won, I’m still going to watch the show tonight, I want to hear those young Finnish schoolboys again.
Good picture and the wind has made even the text fall side-wise 🙂
Busy with family on Mother’s Day, so I’ll leave the windy list listening for tomorrow.
