Last night the front bar of the Pigs Arms was treated to a sneak preview of the Burnside Refugees latest jam session. In this sneak preview, bootleged from last night’s concert in the front bar, T2 does ‘Elvis’; the song is sadly incomplete as Abner forgot to hit the ‘record’ button at the start, but it gives you an idea; will try to post something a bit more complete shortly…
Anyway, here they are, jamming together for the first time in over a year, a big hand please, folks, for the BURNSIDE REFUGEES!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
🙂
Mmm.

Do you play requests?

If I know the song and can play it well enough for a public performance, Alae, certainly, but please don’t request any more Elvisl songs as ‘Teddy Bear’ is the only one of his I have in my current repertoire.
BTW, isn’t it wierd that when you rearrange the words of Elvis’s name you get, “‘E Livs!”

That’s your voice right? A cracker T! No other way to describe it. The bongo player was stoned though, right? You should do some more. I’ve always thought a soundtrack would be a good idea.
It certainly was a tonic after spending some time over at The Daily Bludge. I’ve been rather sucked in and now I’m feeling a little disloyal so I had to come back to get my head straight again. You should take a look though. It has lots of similarities to the early days of Unleashed. Strictly political of course.
As I replied over there to Big M; it’s not like here, all snug and friendly under our own little tea cosy. There are strangers over there, with different ideas.

Mmm. Others, with different ideas. Scary.

Have you ever met a bongo player that wasn’t stoned, Warrigal? That’s why they call them ‘bongo’ players, ’cause where regular musos take a ‘smoko’ they take a ‘bongo’!
Only just heard of the ‘Daily Bludge’ for the first time today Warrigal, and you’re the second person to mention it to me; the Tao must be trying to tell me something… maybe I’ll check it out if I can find time.
I must say I do find strangers with different ideas interesting, Warrigal, if only because discussion with them sharpens the brain… I suppose that’s why I’ve also been spending a little time on the Drum lately.
Anyway, glad you liked my little snippet; I will post more.

Abner and Tetra-hydra-cannabinol, I believe… We still need a bassist, but as you can’t make it to practice sessions, I’m now thinking of asking that Tal Wilkenfeld chick… we’d let her play with us ANY time!

Okay then, I can’t let a well endowed brilliant bass player take my place. How about the long weekend?

Sounds good to me Hung… But which day? If we dont’ make a specific time and date there’s a danger I may be out. But if you let me know at least a couple of days in advance I’ll make sure to stay at home; and
also try to make sure Abner is there too…

No Big M; I’m afraid Elvis has most definitely left the building! This is my only ‘Elvis song’ to date really; I’m more of a post-beatles sorta dude; although I do have several ‘golden oldies’ in my rep including a few Buddy Holly Numbers… But I think I’ve sorta promised you all ‘Herman’s Hermits’ next, anyway… or at least from our next jam; but there’s still more to come from this one.

Does Quiktime still give you the same groovy visuals that Windows Media Player does, though, Big?

No, but I guess one could import it into iTunes and use the funky 70s styled visuals!

If I were to post anything on such an illustrious site as ‘iTunes’, Big M, it would have to be complete… I do ‘sorta’ plan to do so after Abner and I have practiced together a bit more and are a bit more ‘together’ musically…
Hmmmm I’m thinking that I may post something a little less commercial next from this jam session; maybe a little Jethro Tull…

Hmmmm… very strange… the link was blue and then I tested it; it works, but now it’s turned red… or is it still blue for you? Anyway, it works… click on the fullscreen to get the benefit of window’s media player’s free ‘groovies’…

Hmmmm… we’re beyond the looking glass here now people! I think that blue lettered title of an old ‘Elvis’ song looks suspiciously like a teleport to a fantastical musical dimension, where the normal laws of physics do not apply! Hold onto your seats campers and do not adjust your set as we take you on a voyage from the inner mind to… the OUTER LIMITS!
(Seriously though, piglets, I hope you enjoy the song! And I hope the link actually works!)
BTW this is T2, not Emmjay…
