So I will continue to indulge myself with another Steely Dan track. From my younger years I got into this stuff just on the music. I never realised what this song was about but if you are interested go here.

Hung. Are you still running the place down there? As the Pigs’s North American correspondent I’m looking for an insider quote or two for my piece on the US reaction to the Australian elections. So far, the overwhelming response from people I talk to is…what? australia? do they even have a president?

Neville, tell your American friends that Hung is running the country. I am introducing legislation that limits the cost of a bottle of Shiraz to $10 and every radio station must play 1 Steely Dan song per hour. Do you think I’ve got it right?

I will let them all know. Most Aussie Shiraz over here is under $10 already…so not sure that will be a big winner – but I know a few people who will back the Steely Dan idea. I just sent Emmjay my full report on the elections. hope you enjoy.

Oh, I dunno Nev… given the current political situation, the fact that people won’t have to change anything, plus the fact that it means it isn’t actually going to cost them anything, could well make it a winner!
And given the reluctance of any of the other ‘usual suspects’ to actually put up anything in the line of a new policy it could very well be the election decider!
I say, “Go for it, Hung!” You’ve got my vote!
