Jim Stafford Swamp Witch Hatty

Hungie, you doin’ the ‘DJ’ bit this week? Nice cool choice of music I must say; I’m looking forward to playing it tomorrow when I’ll be able to turn the volume up and enjoy it; am particularly looking forward to ‘Stormy Monday’ ’cause that’s in my next blues course, so it’ll be good to hear what it really sounds like!
Keep on hangin’ in the groove Hung!
😉

Hung One On, I recognised this as a Waz’ Selection, but for the outsiders’ sake it might a good idea to put the author’s name up as well… otherwise they might think this is your choice 🙂

Steady on: I pick the last one as one of the best ever.
Jim Stafford Swamp Witch Haddie. Especially when combined with reading The Ballad of Taggart, by M Glenn Taylor.

I wish that someone would include some of the lovely Cuban music in these selections, something by The Buena Vista Social Club…I love Ibrihim Ferrer , Ruben Conzalez, and all those old Cuban charmers…

As has been the case since time immemorial, your word is my command.
I have prepared a mix of Cuban and latin music for next week. You’ll have to brush up your Spanish and Portuguese though. From memory only a few of them have English “subtitles”.
Doesn’t look like this week’s selection has met with much favour. Pity because there are some wonderful songs in this bunch.

Warrigal, nothing wrong with your selection, there are many nice songs there.
The last four or five stories on PA have been as good as the previous ones; the reason for the lack of comments might be that the Piglets are taking part in Mad Monk’s People’s Revolution…
Or maybe just moving house, having operations on noses, feet, painting madly, or like Gez and I, getting stuck in planting Daffodils and of course some Tulips .
Look forward to some Latin rhythms…Spanish is fine, and Portuguese is to Spanish, what Danish is to Swedish, kind of a lesser cousin…

Might have something to do with having time at the moment. For me its an hour or so of an evening every other Friday or the weekend. And this weekend not much.
Oh and I’m battling the imposter again at UL after the mod culled them for two weeks after a terse note about the abuse of their terms and conditions. Might have to escalate to a more serious complaint or as my computer studying son says Media Watch.

Alge, I told the other Algernon off, but he’s still there, not very obedient. 🙂

Thank Helvi and the others who have. I think they’re either a Liberal staffer or one of those little braind dead Young Liberals. They can’t take a hint. I disturbed that the moderator allows this given their rules are quite clear. They did stop it for a couple of weeks.

Yes! It seems odd, and a little recalcitrant, seeing as he/she is obviously aware of you and your ire.
If it’s a man and it’s his real name, one would think that a 2 , or II, after would be reasonable.
Just ignore it Algy, that will probably work.

AND…To Warrigal: I am renovating at the moment and it’s not possible t take my laptop up into the roof-cavity.
BUT..Rest assured I have perused- and will grab an hour this week to go through them.
I may be obnoxious in unleashed( had a bit of fun in the Lapkin blog), but haven’t lost my manners here.
Saw Robert Cray at Coolangatta, years ago.: Excellent.

…ah the Lapkin Blog, I was a little bit rude and let him know that I don’t want a second helping…

Actually, I thought that he was quite articulate. And he bothered to reply, which was sporting.
I got tangled up against two very articulates; and as I just write the first thing that comes into my head–and then press the trigger–it makes for good banter.
I was watching Morse, last night and he used the word flummery; one that I haven’t thought of for years, but might bring out of the cupboard and dust it off. Absolutely gorgeous and just sums up certain things; moments; actions; protestations and humbug!
Morse is/was the thinking man’s cop!
I met John Thaw many, many, years ago, briefly. A consummate actor!

I too liked Thaw/Morse, he always listened to classical music, which was kind of nice.
Funny you should mention the word ‘flummery’, I noticed it the other day somewhere and thought it was so cute I told gez about it …

Sorry, Waz. The numbers of views is well up – but FM and I were away in Melbourne pitching for work (fingers crossed) and having a quiet weekend away from the domestic maelstrom. Voice has been away too.
Both FM and I have been flat out with the start of the new school year and heaps of work – so somewhat remiss as far as the comments have gone.
As it seems to always be the way Chez Pigs, views and comments usually range between 150 and 400 a day with most days around 200 or so views. We consistently average one comment for about ten views.
Got to run – a new week awaits and keeping up is the only option 🙂 Looking forward to getting into your latest selection during lunchtime at work.

Warrigal, the frustration I am enduring at the moment now I don’t have an internet connection regards listening to your selection is something else and maybe I can plug earplugs into library computer…will look into it. See you soon.
Bit laid up regards writing although I am gardening with care to stay mobile. Back pain. I have learned yesterday it might be osteoporosis…I would never have believed it…am having bone density scan and all that carry on soon and have asked for other investigations to follow next week. Trying hard to stay on top of it Warrigal and learning new lifestyle as well. I am trying not to take pain killers until we identify what this exactly is … and then. 🙂

Vectis, what a dag. Haven’t lost your manner’s here. That’s kind of nice. 🙂
Thaw leaves most of what’s happening at the moment on these detective series for dead.
I used to love watching Maigret with my parents when I was school … I admit particularly just to listen repeatedly to the score by Ron Grainer. 🙂
