There’s some great stuff on here. nostalgic, for most of us too, I guess. Excepting the younger ones 😉
I watched a programme on The Doors the other night (Yes Viv, satellite).
It was a European toour 1968, with commentary by Grace Slick.
There many of their songs, with black & white movie. Light my Fire, with Morrison handing the mike to members of the audience at the front of the stage.

Warrigal, if you are missing Mulga, no need to be upset, just google him, he’s still very active on many blogs…I read some of his replies here and there, some long but there were some short and snappy ones as well…
Invite him to Pigs ,to listen and to critique your Music selections..

Of course Van Morrison was still with ‘Them’, when that was released..I hope my memory is correct anyways. I used to play it on the juke box. Gloria too.

Number 1 for a week in 1978, It knocked Mulligans tyres of the top. Pass the dutchie was released in 1982 by musical youth. do I feel a youtube coming on?

Oh, I know we’ve never meet but we used to call it Mulligans Tyre’s also, dreary song but it obviously stuck a chord.

Worst thing Wings ever did was Mulligans Tyres, it was more like a durge. We may never have met Gordon but I’m sure if we worked at it we’d come up with 6 degrees of separation somewhere. As for Jules he might compare you with Mulga with talk like that.

It’d be fascinating to read a critique of pop music and its attendant cultural embellishments from Mumbles. I wonder if Mumbles is a closet ABBA fan, or perhaps Mumble’s taste swings more to Billy Bragg and others of apparent political awareness; Phil Ochs perhaps or Woody Guthrie.
Whatever Mumble’s tastes may be, it’s a cert’ they contribute to that endudedness that is the hallmark of the most famous of Mumbles’ opinions and pronouncements.
Long live the dude!

Gawd, I hate all this work.:Just popped in–Got about 15 mins before I go out again. Don’t get time to blog.
Mulga mentioned classical music several times. I remeber in an exchange with someone he talked about playing, it while admiring some vegetables: silver beet, or similar. He/she was being serious, as from, memory, it was an exchange with a like minded, faux poeon.
I’d love to play these Warrigal. However it will have to be later. I have perused, but did not drink.

Mulga was an over inflated bore that you all fell for. He was at best a pompous racist that used lots of fancy words for which I can see you all swallowed hook line and sinker.

Rod Stewart does it for me. A crackling throaty voice and a face like a sailor, all weather beaten. When one of our daughters was growing up our house was always filled with the sound of Rod’s voice..
