Hey, HOO, everyone wants to know, how the dinner went with Tutu, what did you cook?

…and how was the Canberra birthday party, The Other Mark?
Are we going to call you TOM ?

Hi Mark, dinner was good. I did a fillet steak with steamed baby potatoes and salad served with a Wolf Blass Shiraz 2008. I wasn’t much company as I did an extra shift the night before. Tutu is well although she continues to lose weight. She has been checked for the big C and Diabetes and is clear on both. These dinners are the only way I find out about my sons as I am excluded from their lives even though number one son has made peace with me. He lives in Melbourne now and is well on his way to being the next Jamie Oliver. Number two is still looking for work and lives with his mother. If he could get a good job I am sure he would be a very different person. The mental health team have stopped coming and counselling is helping. I’m not sleeping very well at the moment but I have started eating better and don’t drink anywhere near as much. The extra shifts are helping with my finances and are keeping me busy.

Hung, it’s good to hear that you and Tutu still get on, but sad that she has inexplicable weight loss, although stress and anxiety can do this. Kids are strange and go through phases. My two older sons hated me for a while, but came back.
Counselling from someone competent, with whom you feel you have some sort of connection is useful, as is, feeling needed, even if it’s just to go to work!
Helvi, High Tea at the Hyatt was most excellent, as one would expect. Went to the art gallery, saw the Williams exhibition.
Am painting the spare room. Buggered half of it up with the spray painter, then manged to get more paint, supposedly the same , but ten shades darker. I guess if that’s the worst of it, then we’ve got little to worry us!!

Good to hear that things are improving there Hung. Agree with The Other Marks comments as well as regards counselling.

Hey, look what I’ve just found… I think almost everyone’s forgotten this one… I haven’t heard it in years myself. That’s why I decided to find it on Youtube:

I would just like to say publicly that I unreservedly apologize to Gerard and Helvi after my pathetic outburst here at the Pigs Arms last week or so. I love the Oostermans as they are open and honest people. Please forgive me. I have undergone psychiatric assessment to which I have endeavoured to explain the Pigs Arms. The more I said the bigger I got into trouble

YO! Hung! Another great selection… I’ve just played Angelique Kidjo’s ‘Voodoo Chile’ and was blown away! Here’s the comment I was moved to post over at Youtube:
Fabulous! Interesting that where Jimi plays a guitar-solo intro, Angelique Kidjo puts an African lyric… I can’t help but wonder if this song goes back much further than Jimi and has its roots much deeper in African, rather than African-American culture…
As this is the first time I’ve even heard of Angelique Kidjo, I thought I’d miss Jimi’s guitar soloing, but somehow I didn’t… Kidjo’s is a fantastic sound, unique and sufficient unto itself! Will look out for more of her work!

I also listened to the brilliant Angelique Kidjo, most enjoyable.
I could not resist The Autumn Leaves, but I advise you not listen to it for time being… 🙂

If you have to be lonely for a time then working is a good thing to be doing. Good distraction, good for your job future, and then when your head moves on you’ll have a little (or big) pile of money. 🙂
