This Quince jam recipe is very Quincy. I listened to all the ingredients and watched the vids. I can honestly say today I am older and wiser. Take 5 was, of course, a number so well known to me in its original version. My brother was home on University holidays playing it on his alto sax. We had sheet music of it I played with the reverence of one who follows notation. Walking in Space is such an interesting arrangement. The Gypsy is lovely. QJ seems to make music do natural loop-de-loops and never settles for anything trite. He mastered the fine line.

Listened and liked; Q & Patti Austin, “Betcha’ Wouldn’t Hurt Me”, what an elegantly beautiful lady…I could not open the Bossa Nova one…
Asty, we had a quince tree on the farm, you make more jelly than jam out of the fruit, you can buy the very expensive quince jelly cubes made by Maggie Beer, and eat it with your cheese and bikkies…

I like quinces… they keep for ages and give off such a powerful aroma that the whole house smells like pineapples!
I can imagine they’d make a nice jam, but I’ve only ever tried them once and then I just boiled them (one must do this in order to get one’s teeth into ’em!) and discovered that they weren’t quite as nice as they smelt; sure, they tasted like pineapple, but a somewhat ‘watered-down’ version… Maybe this was ’cause of the way I boiled ’em and just ate ’em like that, without so much as a dollop of cream or a sprinkle of sugar… I’d be interested to experiment a little more with them though…

I remember that article Emmjay… but I hope you know that the photo shows pomegranates and not quinces. I’ll re-read it again later… a few things I gotta do first…

I remember about the quinces being pomegranates, reckon it was the first article I read of emmjays when I was wondering who this person is.
Pomengranates I have on a tree seemed to spring from nowhere. They are taking ages to ripen. I didn’t realise this.
