Silence is easy – Starsailor

There’s summit for everybody…as much as I dislike C & W, Harry Nilsson, ‘Everybody’s talkin’ at me’, well, I was a kid when this came out, and…they were!

I knew that, of course… I just wanted to ask the question so I could pretend I had a stack like that… just for a moment!

Lol! That’d REALLY give the neighbours something to complain about! It’d take up most of the long wall in my lounge… but I don’t think this brick veneer and plasterboard unit could take it… it would be like a Disaster Area concert…

Bloody good ,alge….only complaint: my very favourite man Leonard Cohen has so much better stuff than this one…I thought I knew all about him, but have never heard this one… 🙂
Many thanks for yet another excellent selection.

Thank you Helvi, this Lenard Cohen track was selected because it was the it was off an album of the same name. The producer was Phil Spector unlike his other albums. Whilst there are better Cohen tunes this and any off that album fit with the theme here. There are many others here that whilst not produced by Spector, use the Wall of Sound technique like the ABBA song for example.

It’s all fine, I was kidding, you are doing a fine job, alge….

There is nothing wrong with telling me that you don’t like or a particular tune is not a favourite, Helvi. In fact I happy if people do. The Cohen track isn’t my favourite either.

Ah the ‘Wall of Sound’! What would pop music have been without Phil Spectre… Looking forward to playing my way through this over the weekend Algae…

Even the Starsailor tune from 2002 has Spector influence. Enjoy.

I must admit I do like a good girls band from the ’60s and the The Ronettes and Phil Spector exemplify this.
