Close Encounters of the Third Kind

So cool about movies I sometimes leave a movie playing intending to be away a minute and having gotten involved in doing something realise I am listening to the sound track. Suspense filled movies are good for it. Less dialogue and more mood music.
I’ll settle in with some popcorn later today and listen. Maybe when I get tired of battling in the garden. After watching one of Monty Don’s Lost Gardens episodes I dug a ‘seed bed’ that’s coming up all over. Last night I contemplated the besser brick corners edging the corners of the main garden and magined it a garden built to a grand design. 🙂
Thank you for getting the bands into the Memorial Ballroom as usual on Friday, Algernon. Top idea, Alges.

Can’t get into comments box, yet again.
Is the theme cinema/film/movies? If so, well done. My old favourites are not here – Man and a Woman, Never on a Sunday and of course Zorba. And that wonderful Aussie film Malcolm – fab music.

Man and Woman, oh how I loved the movie and the music…same goes for Zorba, old favorites both of them.

I’ll keep looking for Malcolm

Many thanks. Zorba spot on. But Connie did not sing it for the movie which of course starred that fab woman Melina Mercouri. The Man and Woman had a song called Man and a Woman. Malcolm starred Colin Friels – a tram fanatic and the music was originally composed – by ??? can’t remember. Had the film on an old video and we used to watch it regularly.

Simon Jeffes and Steve Nye did the complete score for the movie Malcolm. See Penguin Cafe Orchestra for more info – fascinating background, played with Kraftwerk etc. Cannot find the music though.

Cripes, think I found it – Music for a found Harmonium – might not be exactly it but sounds a lot like it. It is on Youtube somewhere. I am on it through Artistopia.com – penguin cafe etc.

Melina sings it – found it on Youtube. Memories.

The Malcolm music I found is not of the movie. But it is very similar and if anyone listens they would agree.

I did think that vivenne but too many to choose from. Narrowed it down to the Connie or Melina and the give away should have been the Greek name.

It looks awful. I hope my kids who live in the south east are ok. I am sure they will be. They are pretty well safety conscious. Brisbane has some crackers of storms. They turn up like an all city and environs light show and have big sound tracks.

Helvi asked me to stop the storm. Gave it a go. I was in my garden in Bordertown. It was a long shot, Helvi.
