Yes I was hoping no one would notice that. I saw that after it had been posted.

Makes a change from shooting and guns. I loved all those but especailly the beatles ‘come together.’
It is associated with a time when I built really massive speaker boxes in the early seventies with huge wharfdale 12 inch speakers and tweeters with cross-over units. No wonder I am deaf now. I just wanted to get a deep base sound The ‘ come together;’ provided me with the ‘standards of a really deep base’ that I could relate and compare with other speaker boxes. The other record of a deep base sound was the New world Symphony by Dvorak.

So I suspect your not serenading Bowral now, Gerard. Unlike Asty who is excited about his new purchases (hope he enjoys them). Blues rock went well beyond the 60’s. I reckon I’m a bit deaf, not from playing butt by being too close to the speakers.

Not a gag, Algae… though it’s not important either…
I posted a comment saying blues/rock was my favorite and, whilst on the subject of blues, also skiting about a few purchases I made as the result of a recent GAS attack (Gear Acquisition Syndrome – BGU slang…).
But I think someone must’ve objected to a list of commercial products! It disappeared the same day!
Anyway… seems I’m now surrounded by more guitars and amps than you could poke a stick at! I needed a nylon-stringed acoustic to practice fingerpicking ’cause the steel strings on my other acoustic were chewing up my fingernails far too quickly… And of course, then I had to get an acoustic amp for it; so I got a 150 watt combo that can also be used as a PA… And I’d promised myself a new amp for my SG… and I’d also promised myself a Les Paul for chrissie if my pension came through… so when I saw one on sale I grabbed it; it came with its own little practice amp; AND I found the MOST useful little battery-operated 3 watt amp that’s so portable it may even allow me to use my electric guitars for busking! (If I ever get that desperate for cash again!)
You’ll notice I’ve left brand names out of this post… so no-one can be offended by it… (‘SG’ and ‘Les Paul’ being rather generic names for guitars these days…)

So you’ll be serenading the neighbours in the coming weeks by the sound of things, Asty. And all these new things to play with. I gave up playing guitar at 13, I regret that now.
I’d be surprised if the commercial products are an issue, however sometimes some odd things happen there. Vivenne for example has to hitch onto someone else’s comments occasionally. I just noticed this is just under your comment and not connected to mine, that’s not normal.

Maybe the Mayan calender was out a few days, Asty, you know like the difference between the Julian and Gregorian calender.

Would you believe I have to answer my own post in order to answer your last one, Algae? Happens like that sometimes… dunno why!
Anyway, I have my own explanation of why the world has not yet ended… but it’s gonna take too long to tell as a ‘comment’ so I’m in the throes of writing a post about it for the ‘PA Bumper Chrissie Edition’… With any luck I’ll post it either later tonight or maybe tomorrow night… Gonna try and get it done by then anyway.

Thank you Algernon. I listened up to The Yardbirds for a starter, Algy.
So reminscent of The Beatles in the Tony Sheridan days, and traces of The White Album. I’d not made the connection before. I look forward to listening to the list. Looks like Friday Night at the Pigs Arms. 🙂
