Get back – The Beatles

Algy, an amazing historical list of numbers off that radio that seemed to play incessantly in the background of our lives in the 60s. I took a departure and decided to listen through first up. I have not otherwise begun my day. I’ve been on a wild ride of emotion listening to these and watching the piccies. Thank you once more.
Coincidence last night looking for recordings by them I came across a Queensland University Musical Society flashmob vid of them doing Happy Together. Surely not an easy piece to put across in the conditions.

Thanks shoe, glad you enjoyed it.
The acapella version of the Turtles song was good, pity about the sound on recording though.

Yes Sixties alright, alge, as your ‘fashionista’ I note all women are wearing dresses , the length above the knee…what’s the occasion, alge, are these people your relatives?
Now to the main event, music, I start with Beatles, then The Seekers…

Again, can’t get into comment box below.
Yes, they were popular in the 60s. But most were not popular with me as some were just downright annoying. Played too often to the point where I felt like yelling, stop, not again !
Mrs Brown, Sadie, the two Elvis ones and Petula (everyone loved her didn’t they) scored high on my irritation list. But well done Algy – you are a trooper.

I agree how some of them really grate, Sadie as you say, Honey is another one that really grated for me , same with last weeks list. But to a point they were all popular and that was what I was trying to put forward in these two lists.

Of course you were Algy and you succeed always. It doesn’t necessarily follow that all popular music is popular with everyone. I think some really good tunes/songs/music have sometimes been ruined by being played way too much and that for me was the case way back then. West of the Wall is one of those ! – do you remember it? Hard to forget really.

Totally agree there vivenne. I had to reacquaint myself with that didn’t quite recognise the name. It would have irritated on a high rotation. Some “popular music” music is just dreadful but the masses like it, I scratch my head and wondered why at times.

I’ve no idea helvi, just one of those great images I find from time to time on the web. It just screamed late sixties to me.
