As many of us know JJ Cale died last weekend, I thought I might just present two albums from the 1970’s as a tribute.

Vale J.J. Cale
In 1983, Cale released his eighth album, 8. The album became his first not to chart. I’m not surprised. With song titles such as Unemployment, People lie, Teardrops in My Tequila … back then there was a B-grade movie actor in the oval office, and Thatcher at No:10
I can’t imagine either of them being a member of JJ Cale fan-club.
People Lie
Well, you can talk to the governor, talk to a prince
Talk to a preacher or the president
Some people lie, some people lie and deceive
When they say one thing, they mean something else completely
I had me a woman, loved me to begin
Two days later she was with another man
Some people lie, some people lie and deceive
But sometime later, they’ll get theirs, yes sirree
Well, I bought me a new car, a limo, no doubt
The wheels fell off, the salesman he was out
People lie, people lie and deceive
When they say one thing, they mean something else completely
The bottom line, you understand
When some people talk, you can’t believe what they’re saying
People lie, people lie and deceive
When they say one thing, they mean something else completely

Still can’t remember the name of that song. Beginning to think I have him mixed up with someone else.
