I can see the problem clearly now. Poor old Jokin’ Joe up there has only three fingers and a thumb on each hand. I’m assuming, in keeping with Toon biology, this situation is repeated on his feet.
So unless Joe knows how to count in Base 8 and adjust for Base 10, irrespective of whether or not he’s got his socks on or off, I guess we’re in for more of the same from the famously “rithmetic” challenged coalition.
And now, because I never get tired of reminding people, I will repeat my favourite piece of coalition trivia.
Wait for it wait for it……
Did you know that John Howard failed mathematics at the leaving certificate?
He did you know.

No, as a treasurer he’ll be concentrating on decimating. Just watch the decimating of the employed.

I thought only Tony was interested in budgies.
Tony, of course, now is smuggling boats. I know what I could suggest he should smuggle them in but then I’d be politically incorrect.
No point in invoking the spirit of Pythagoras for young Joe, is it?

Nicely to the point. Do you know if he is also going to study decimals?

No, Viv, any number with a zero in it means nothing. There’s no difference (in Joe’s mind) between a thousand and a billion, just more zeros, just as there’s no difference between 0.1 and 0.00001!
