One of the best lists, along with Mark’s the other week.
I have a double vinyl of Allmans. There’s a long track on it: cant’ remember what it’s called.
Michael Stipe’s voice is always spine tingling, urgent and compelling (see Big, I do like queers). Worn out Little feat. I suppose i could download it now, but it wouldn’t be as good. love the clangy guitar on Lynard Skinnard. Saw them once in town in London somewhere. Can’t remember where.
All good

It’s Called “Mountain Jam” on the Eat a Peach Album. One of my all time favourites. The song takes up a whole side of one of the discs – about 20 minutes. Some track ! The jam is based on Donovan’s “First there is a Mountain” ….. then there is no mountain …. then there is ! Cheers, Jules 🙂

They work well together I thought. I was 1/2 way through preparing this one when HOO put his part 2 up. Agree with you about Michael Stipe’s voice

That was Bill Payne, who incidentally produced Goanna’s second album “Oceania”. His personal piano style is distinguishable on several tracks.
That having been said, because there is simply no such thing as “too much Little Feat”, here, in their entirety, are “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now” and “Time Loves A Hero”.
“Feats Don’t Fail Me Now”
“Time Loves A Hero”
“I got that tripe faced boogie. Gonna boogie my speakers away!!”

One of the best things about Algy’s lists – apart from the fact they they are so enjoyable – is that they often lead to other gems like this one, Hung. 18 minutes of Duane Allman and Eric Clapton jamming !

Thank you HOO, thought this needed to be the follow up to the Southern R&B list of a few weeks ago. I thought this made a great segway to your post last week. In fact I had to change one as you posted it the week before. I like Little Feat as well

So beautiful. When I was up north visiting a year or so ago, I was perched up on a big comfy cushion and all the old photos came out in slide form on a screen that were taken at a central meeting place we all used to frequent. Naked men with nail bags slung around their midriffs building houses. What a feast. I think I took those lovely bods for granted. 🙂
