Two Albums from 1972
Album presentations by Algernon
Two albums this time, both 50 years old. The first, arguably The Rolling Stones best album, the second, Neil Young’s first solo effort Harvest. Initially both weren’t that well received by the critic but both found their followers. Enjoy.
Exile on Main Street – The Rolling Stones
Harvest – Neil Young
Not a big Stones fan as my brother played them non-stop when we all lived together with mum and dad. I will admit though they have written some excellent radio-friendly rock songs.
Neil Young I really like and have many albums of his in my collection however I only really like two or three. Same with Pink Floyd and Led Zep. The only band I seem to have truly followed all the way is Steely Dan.

I don’t mind them, the Rolling Stones. This album was easily their best.
Neil Young’s Harvest was THE album to have back in the day. I can enjoy many musicians and like you some are better than others.

In the last band I was in the lead guitarist was infatuated with Led Zep. He was a great player but had a really limited range of music he listened to. Like you, I like lots of different stuff.
