I remember a gig in Earlwood called the “Duke of Earl”, (the late seventies wasn’t known for it’s originality), and on this particular night Ol’55 blew the roof off the dump.
Surrounded by bobby soxers and dudes with leopard skin lapels on sharkskin suits it all made sense to me for the first time, and Frankie (actually Peter if I remember) was then and probably still is a really sweet guy. He was an accountant from Tamworth(?) where his family had a bakery (?) but who can remember that far back. Of course he’s a mainstay on the small and big screen these days.
That’s not him singing on this clip though.. Least it doesn’t look like him. Certainly not how I remember him.

I thoroughly enjoyed it – too early for a drinky poo though. But we are having roast pork tonight!

How you doing it? We are having roast chicken. In the cavity put 1 teaspoon salt, crushed garlic, lime leaves and lemon wedges. Put in a pot with 1 cup white wine and herbs oregano and dash of olive oil. Roast with lid on 2 hrs at 150 then take lid off for 30 mins and up to 180 to brown. Use juices for gravy. Yum.
