Getting In Touch With My Inner Gay Guy
It’s a great pity that men who enjoy a little musical theatre every now an then are often dismissed as tired and emotional gays guys with little or no grip on reality. It’s said that the merest sight of Judy Garland can send them into paroxysms of hand flapping and gushing praise.
Well I enjoy a well turned out musical and frankly my inner gay guy has helped me out of some scrapes that the deployment of my more masculine tendencies would have seen me throttled, or worse.
So; got ya tights on? It’s time we went into our dance.

I like” Kids, what’s the matter with kids today?”
That was always the most popular piece at Strathfield’s Vic’s Caberet where I used to go to on Saturday nights. All dressed up and hair pushed forward into a slight wave with brilliantine to keep it wavey for a couple of hours.
Anyone smelling of Alcohol would be shown the door. That’s where I met that girl that I took to Woy Woy to show her the devastation of a Willy Willy.
The ceiling at Vic’s caberet had one of those rotating balls with hundreds of little mirrors that would throw fascinating light effects on all the dancers. Of course they were also the days of girls on one side and boys on the other side except when dancing. After the dance both sides would return to their respective sides.
I think, I used to smoke Graven A in packets of 10 and sometimes shouted myself to a bottle of Fanta.

Just to set the story straight, pardon the pun, but the pictures and music are complied by Warrigal

Hung, doesn’t matter whose choice they are I like the selection today; maybe it was chosen by ‘Lucy’ ,the Inner Girl of Waz…
It might be a good thing to put the name of the Author up as well, not just name of the bloke who’s helping the blog host 🙂

Sorry, Hungs. My inner gay guy must be buried far too deep into inner sanctum of my soul! Can’t stand musicals. Can’t cope with the mythicus interruptus they cause. I’ll cop some opera but only when separated into its different constituents: music, heard on its own, story, told on its own, drama, staged as such. Same with ballet. Delighted to hear the music, enjoy the aerobics and the staging, love to hear the story but put them all together and it’s a minestrone cooked by a caveman.
Musicals are a horrible hybrid to my inner gay guy’s ears, eyes and veins.
Yet I’ll sing chim, chiminee, cheroo till the cows come flying back.

Anything from the Westside Story will do me, and of course there nothing more romantic than The Umbrellas of Cherbourg…
Lots of good stuff there Hungie, we have visitors here, so will listen later…can’t wait.
Good work, Inner Gay of Hung,( four year old Tom used say ‘gail’ instead)
