Our VoR
It is unto you in times like these
We seek the neighbours to appease.
Down to the Council, with strong voices
They do complain of the Pig’s Arms noises.
It was only Gez and perhaps his missus
In the carpark revved up the Lambrettistas
Obtuse the Angles came to play and pissed around last Saturday
All bluff and bluster it’s been said
Until our cocky was found stone dead.
It lowers the tone of our precincts
And presages the arrival of gangs of Finks
So Vinh, Miss Ordinaire of Rouge
Make haste and with your presence felt
Show the flag and wield the belt
And quieten down this part of town
And hold at bay
The noise-inspector’s frown.

Gez and his missus, not impressed…
It should be: H and her old bloke.

Well, so much for that rhyme and metre 🙂

Sounds way to ‘English’ to be a blues… much more of a ‘ballad’, I’d say… Emmjay, did you write this, or was it La Voix herself? Whomever… congratulations; very amusing. Maybe I’ll find time for another effort next week… I still gotta post the next episode of ‘Virgil’s Aeneid’ (Tomorrow, I promise) and then Hell Hospital (by Friday, likewise. I know I said that last week; but I didn’t say WHICH Friday, did I?)

I’d sit alone and watch your light
My only friend through teenage nights
And everything I had to know
I heard it on my radio
(Radio)
You gave them all those old time stars
Through wars of worlds — invaded by Mars
You made ’em laugh — you made ’em cry
You made us feel like we could fly
So don’t become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just don’t know or just don’t care
And just complain when you’re not there
You had your time, you had the power
You’ve yet to have your finest hour
(Radio)
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio what’s new?
Radio, someone still loves you!
We watch the shows — we watch the stars
On videos for hours and hours
We hardly need to use our ears
How music changes through the years
Let’s hope you never leave old friend
Like all good things on you we depend
So stick around cos we might miss you
When we grow tired of all this visual
You had your time, you had the power
You’ve yet to have your finest hour
(Radio)
All we hear is Radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio GaGa
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio GaGa

Emmjay, do you mean, why did I post it?
Hung bought up the radio thing–and this just came straight to mind.
I didn’t/don’t know what he had in mind. Unless it was an association test??

I’ll confess to ‘vaguely’ remembering the song, but could never have hummed it Hehe.
I listened to it then and have to say that it had some good moments. Obviously reasonably talented players.
