Painting and Story by Lehan Winifred Ramsay
My mouse is dying, it falls off at the edges. The track is weak, my fingers can move the curse but not make it change anything. I need a new mouse. I order one on the friday and it rings the doorbell on Monday, Mourning. In between I TAP TAP TAP with my thumb, and by the Sunday C5 and 6 are crackling against my pillow. Racing down my arm and back up, I feel like a broken collarbone. The new mouse has a little button on it, up and down so smoothly. If C5 and 6 can speak to my thumb, it seems, my thumb can reply.
Nice painting Lehan… though I’m bit worried by your x-rays… Did you know you’re arm has an extra joint? I hope it’s not a mutation from over-exposure to radiation!

Your arm doesn’t have that many joints asty? The top one’s the çollar Bone.

I kinda realised that after I realised that the spine was horizontal, Lehan… but collar bones are much smaller than either the humerus (that’s the bone next to the funny bone!) or the ulna and radius (one of which appears to be missing!)
But I was only kidding anyway; I realise too, that your painting wasn’t intended to be anatomically accurate… I just used it as an excuse for a merry quip; you know me… any excuse for a joke!

I like the painting a lot. But it is alarming how tapping with a thumb can bugger up your neck. I recommend Voltarin. Or try Arnica.

I had many friends who took THC, for all ailments. They were frequently comatose, so it solved a lot of aches and pains.

I gave up many, many, many, many years ago.
Most of my contemporaries smoked dope, some with little bits of other stuff mixed, but I decided to give up in my late twenties and never touched it again.
Oh a couple of times by accident. There were some hash cakes and I wasn’t told!

And stop tapping. Go to a massage or acupuncture man if it’s bad enough. Don’t try to turn your head to the right. Wear a scarf. Most of all, stop tapping.

Bloody herniated discs, trouble at any spinal level.
Love the painting, that vertebral column seems to have snake-like quality to it. Skeletons seems to be eerie and comical at the same time.

Gloriously creepy pic, Lehan!

thanks atomou. It’s not such a good picture of the painting, but it’s okay.

Why do we do this to ourselves? She says guiltily walking the 3 metres to the drawer with the spare wired mouse after having tapped for a day because the wireless mouse batteries ran out. Thanks for the reminder.
Like the painting.

Thankyou for your concern. I think.

For those of you without a herniated disc in their neck, C5 and 6 are the bones in your neck responsible for the pain that shoots down your arm to your thumb. If it were your little finger it would be a different C.

Does the titanium set off security when you go through the body scanner?

No it doesn’t Lehan. The 1st time that I travelled by air, I took a leeter with me, just in case.
