Well, I got through them all. The only one that I cared for was the bee gees. And T2’s Carolina on my mind.
Most James Taylor songs send me into spasms of nostalgia.
Mud Slide Slim is a great favourite. And his song Sweet baby James…sigh ..

There you go. I’m happy for you post this if you like as others have done here. With 50 states I’ve split this series into 3 parts.

Caught the end of the Eurovision song thingy, before the finals. What was with the Indian head dress? Always fun to watch though, with no semblance of the best act winning.
Many good ones here and some rather odd ones as well in this three part series

Nothing will ever repair the damage done by that awful Dutch number at the Euro Vision Song contest. Why dress like a Winnetou squaw? Helvi has almost finished laughing.

Daughter texted me and asked what the headdress was about. I said to do with her playing cowboys and indians as a kid. But it really did not work and looked silly. Most of the songs in the second semi were a bit dreary and dark – not enough oooomph. I still enjoyed it though.

Viv, I enjoyed the first lot more, still the Norwegians were good, and I also liked Turkish boys, they raved about the Swedish entry but it did not do anything for me, you are right, not enough oomph for me either…
Julia and her side -kick were fantastic, good PR for Australia…

They have told us the winner. Don’t listen to any news or go to the ABC website if you don’t want to know the winner. Julia and Sam did a great job this year – hit their straps so to speak.
Next up is Tour de France – get your bike gear on. Well, not really, but it is mandatory watching here and Letters and Numbers have a break.

I know the winner, Viv, but will watch it all the same…i did not like the Swedish entry…what happened to Iceland? I’m hooked on Letters and Numbers, thanks to you and VL. I was reading a book about an American /French woman experiences in Paris…she is staying in her aunt’s flat at the beginning of her stay…she puts the TV on and finds an old Letters and Numbers show on….

At last! Some sign of life here… G’day Algae! How ’bout “Goin’ to Carolina in My Mind” by James Taylor?
I know you got that state covered already, but it’s too nice a song to miss… and it brings back memories to me of my busking days; I often used to sing this one as the lower part of a duet. The other part was a fellow busker who I travelled with for several years, a West-Country girl from Tiverton in Devon called Jill Greenwood… She was a better guitarist than I, spoke better French and had the voice of an angel… and I was hopelessly in love with her…
Another regular at Matilda’s too, of course… and another story waiting to be told…
