alge, shortlisting is already cool, Gez has had few published, but that was some time ago, he does not go there anymore…

I’ve had one published this day last year, so I was excited that this one would do the same this year. The letter that they did publish on a similar vein wasn’t as good I felt. Excited that it was considered though.

These have to be the post-Christmas songs for me, as we spent Chrissie in Sydney and now the boys are here keeping us busy. As they are still sleeping I have a chance to write this…the listening to them has to wait until they have gone home; the list looks good…Frank Sinatra makes me think of Christmas!

Going to the village IGA means I miss the ‘dreadful’ Christmas music, songs. This list reminds me of what I am missing and the feeling is good !

Got a notice shortly after I sent it today that its been short listed, with some small edits. If it gets up it will be two years in a row on the same day.
As for the list very tongue in cheek.

I saw that your letter had not appeared. Though someone else mentioned the Bishops in another context. Not there today either.

Unfortunately no vivienne, there was a letter on the same topic, they were playing up the misogyny . Mine was a play on words on the Anglican church.

Crooners to the left of us, crooners to the right! What a marvellous swan song so to speak on 2012, Algy. Swans & Ducks & Geese be yours aplenty on your pond this Xmas season & to the Algernoninas & Mrs Algernon, seasons greetings.
Watching the Proms & I hear the Santa train pulling through the Bordertown railway station on its ubiquitous way to all the good little girls & boys everywhere. Merry Christmas everybody. Merry Christmas. asty.

Just takes you back to the long queues in the shops doesn’t it. Woolies was half full yesterday at 7:15am. All I wanted was two loaves of bread. Butcher only 6 from the door when we arrived, 30 deep when we left (they misplaced the ham and turkey, but found it for us.
A Merry Christmas to you too shoe.

A great list of chrissie songs, Algae!
And speaking of the ‘Bumper Christmas Edition’, Therese, if there’s anyone still in the office, I’ve just submitted an article for review (and saved a draft too) which explains why the world didn’t end as it should have done over the last few days…
