A local albeit migrant to the district referred to me a couple of days ago in query ‘Puccini?’ when I mentioned listening to music. I said Puccini is good. La Boheme, he said, it makes me cry every time.
I commented Mimi, her little hand is frozen, recalling how I was awed by this when I was a teenager and can barely listen to it now, leastwise not alone lest I fall off my carefully preserved edge.
Of course it makes you cry.
Gurrumul is so splendid. Gurrumul’s music makes me weep for the beauty of his tonal quality. I guess that is what Italians refer to about their passionate love of the sound of their best operatic voices.
