I Remember You ! Both of You !
A treat for seniors – a remake of Frank Ifield’s classic “I Remember You” – has a couple of good things going for it ! Worth checking out further.
Many thanks to ‘Shoe for digging up the “Swiss Maid” clip – check it out at Foodge 38
Frank Ifield, all round great bloke, and top singer. Never heard of Nikki Gillis, but will keep me ears peeled (and wax free). Of course, Diana Krall did a cover, sans yodelling.
MMmm Diana Krall…cold spoon time, again. of course, I warned Mrs M that there were many a younger woman who wouldn’t mind a piece of this (as Mr M waved his hand, like Miss World, across his torso).
“Can I have their names and addresses so that I can go around to there houses and laugh at them.” Was the reply!

I am most amused at image of Mr M waving his hand like Miss World across his torso. We all have our role models Mr M & to think! I am sure you are a credit to yours. Tee hee hee. They are very elegant, Miss Worlds. Tee hee hee.

Yes, Mr M is still confident of his appeal to the opposite sex…Mrs M has no illusions about Mr M’s appeal, but loves him, grey hair, paunch ‘n’ all.

You would look so out of place without a paunch in your line of work, Big.

btw I throw in randomly a comment I have made before and a question. I like Arnie – love – in that wild yarn about being pregnant that he plays in the movie with Danny de Vito, Junior. I can front up to that and laugh myself silly over and over. Do you know the movie?

What an absolute purler there shoe. This is a great remake of this iconic tune.
When working in a pub in London, we had some rather dreary background music play. Well the gov’ner wouldn’t wok on Saturday night, so I’d pull out a tape, can’t quite remember the name but something like “The best of British 60’s”. Just loaded with great British popular music. “I remember You” was on this tape as were other Australian Artists of the time. This one though had everybody singing along.

O algy how good they were on the tape. I can imagine its cover, perhaps a British flag and a double decker bus with Big Ben in the background. 🙂
They were very important to us growing up. Frank Ifield was a sweet influence on us because he was so clean cut. I first heard him on a radio programme with Lionel Long, I am sure when I think on it that was an ABC Programme. I must have been 11 or so. Early 60s I think algy. He was one of my first crushes sight unseen, nothing like a yodel to get a girl interested.
