That’s the nice thing about Rick Stein it’s always about something more than food, he’s also rather humble, not pushing his ideas about anything to you. The one cooking show I like. The Vietnamese chef was rather good too, he likes people, is very sociable and has a good sense of humour.
I think Big M is referring to a Rick Stein who played guitar for Meat Loaf, Helvi… rather than one who cooks meat loaf!
I think I still have too much eyesight to be a proper ‘Blind Boy’, M, but was thinking of maybe ‘Gimpy Dave’ might be appropriate; or perhaps ‘Blues Boy Dave’ maybe shortened to ‘BBD’ (which oughta give real bluesmen a laugh too!)
No, it was Stein of cooking fame. BBD sounds great. I know a paediatrician with the surname King, so I call him BB or Blues Boy. Unfortunately, I’m the only one who gets the joke.
Well, Ah’ll go to’t foot of ower sturz… Hang on though… I do remember that show, now; all about gumbo and jambalaya and how to cook a ‘gator… Not bad; should’a played more blues though!
Glad to see you’ve managed to post ‘Old Mississippi Blues’ for me, Therese… Thanks!
Piglets may be interested to note that all pictures are from the Mississippi region, including some shots of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina… Pictures also include a mockingbird and a magnolia; state bird and state flower of the State of Mississipi, and the State flags of Mississippi and Missouri as well as some historical material from the region…
Can we rename you ‘Blind Boy Asty’? Nice playing.
Rick Stein did a show about the Mississippi, which was more about the history and music than the food. Turns out he’s always been a closet blues fan.
