Tip-off by Emmjay
So I have a damned cold (typical for me in hot, sticky humid Sydney Februaries – with lots of exposure to viral tubes aka buses and trains).
Couldn’t sleep.
Watched this truly amazing iView documentary on the ABC. Absolutely chilling and a total must-see. It expires in 3 days so rip over there and watch it !
NB ABC iView is apparently only watchable from Australia – but the doco is more widely available – google it – it’s available as a Vimeo movie and more than worth the trouble.

12.45AM. Back in Bordertown from Adelaide and within the space of two days I am beginning to work later and spend time out watching documentaries and film. Not unhappy I watched the second half of the program The Anti-Social Network (so I will watch the first) that puts into perspective how important it is people manage themselves in online engagement and partic. bullies are not underestimated how far they will persist in generating harm. Looks to me as if trolling is a chronic illness and its most distinctive symptom persistent anti-social behaviour that is directed at individuals. Perhaps that seems self evident. Various manifestations of violence and antisocial behaviour are as evident as the nose on our faces, however, we cannot recognise them or do not acknowledge them until an ultimate harm befalls a victim. The first harm is to a victim’s sense of well being and happiness.

The case of the woman and her online impersonation and its consequences (Tall Hot Blonde) I followed through news media, perhaps in the NY Times, but of course without the commentary. A perspective of interest is the height of imagination each of the three involved in the communication had to sustain to conduct these relationships online. Who knows how many hundreds and thousands of people are doing the same.

Thanks for the tip-off. I will get over there and have a look at that.
For the sake of input. I watched The Year My Voice Broke yesterday, a 20 year old plus classic about the growing up experience of adolescents featuring Noah Taylor, Ben Mendelsohn and Loene Carmen. Provided me wonderment considering how teenage kids take to being directed in a movie with explicit representations of teenage sexuality and angst. The special features on the vid I borrowed have interviews that include some discussion of the topic of their comfort playing the roles. Lovely photography of the environment it was filmed in.

Truly, Big, I saw that (what you say about nurses’ shoes) really for the first time last week. That’s a lot to see for the first time in public too.

Nice. Thank you regarding the gravatar. Recent photo and amazing what a visit to a great dentist will do to perk a girl’s smile up. 🙂
