Flight JQ27 was diverted to Bali, where the six men – identified as Bradley Beecham, Brett Eldridge, Michael Matthews, Mark Rossiter, Lynmin Waharai and Ricky William – were escorted off the plane by police.
Will our PM now get up in front of the TV and warn us about our Aussie born and bred terrorists? Totally radicalised by Christian culture and KB lager.
One can just imagine if those people would have had a Middle Eastern or Islamic background.
I’m at greater risk of lumbago , or alcoholism, or anything other than terrorism!

I”m less sure about this reliance on statistical probabilities. I had the very principle you explicate explained to me – very recently – when I said I don’t really want to fly anywhere.
They said you’re more likely to choke on a grape and I said no I’m not I can’t afford grapes but this week I can afford a 2 for 1 trip on Big Stripey Kitten Airways and they said ohhh as if they were groaning with a grape in their mouth. I cannot trust statistics or other people’s interpretation of them to guide me. I like on the ground.

I don’t know how the Kitten folk do it so cheap. As for the searching of passengers for concealed weapons or bombs, there are non-metallic guns and knives that escape detection, yet they continue to search randomly, with age old pensioners struggling through the airport lounge with belt and shoes in hand, and trousers around their ankles.

These are not terrorists, Gerard. 🙂 These are mental retards. 🙂 I know these types very well. I used to drive cabs.

The difference is Gerard, it’s unlikely someone of Middle eastern or Islamic background aren’t likely to get pissed on duty free. These blokes were bogans and unlikely to be christian. Saw the same sort of pissed bogans coming back from Bali earlier in the year. Probably pissed since they’d arrived in Bali, dressed as though they’d just got off the beach.
Some years ago I was On a flight from London to Tokyo. There were Norwegian seamen managed to down a bottle of spirits each between them. They got quite aggressive but not violent the more they drank.

Ally, I once flew New York to Tokyo – JAL. There was a reggae band on the plane who were stoned and then started to drink to oblivion. 17 hours of fun that wasn’t.
