Orkestar

Algy’s Favourite Orkstra Photograph

An album Presentation by Algernon

Something a little different this week. Michael Kiwanuka is a Ugandan who grew up in London.  His music has been compared to Marvin Gay, Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Randy Newman, Terry Callier, and Otis Redding, as well as Van Morrison and the Temptations. He also acknowledges the acknowledges the influences from musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Bill Withers, Otis Redding, Jack Johnson, Pops Staples, The Band, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Eric Bibb, Tommy Sims, Wham! and Richie Havens. I’d add Pink Floyd in some of the backing singers as well.

This album was released last year
