Now here’s a guy that played the guitar very well in a very different way.

Doing a Beatles or Harrison tune. Okay just joking, all right.
Should add this mp3, it’s a heartbreaker.
05 – The Jeff Healey Band – Angel Eyes

I’m glad it brought back such a pleasant memory shoe 🙂

Hung, I’m fascinated by his overhand style, which he maintains even whilst standing. I tried to find some footage of Adrian Belew, who used to play overhand slide guitar, generating big cat and rhino sounds!
Alas, most of the Youtube clips are rehashes of his old songs with NO slide playing!

Oi dunno, I only ever listened to Belew when he went solo in the 80’s.

1968; I was walking downstairs to The Basement of the University of Queensland refectory to where a recently met companion had suggested he and I adjourn our unscheduled meeting at the library, wherefrom up the stairs out of a juke box floated for my first hearing of it ever the sound to my ear of ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’. I recall clear as clear exclaiming how beautiful it was. That is really why I recall I think the detail. Jeff Healy I know from another life, but not until 1992 when my immediate boss was a Canadian who played Healy on a radio program. I wondered where had I been, but music is like that, eh. You have to be where the music is. Thanks, Hung One On. 🙂
