Dear Patrons de la Maison de Porc,
Apparently it gets worse before it gets better. That’s where I am now.
I remain in good spirits and confidence is high, though vigour and concentration seem at a premium at the moment.
However my tiny nurse angels continue to do a great job and are constantly stopping by to amuse me. (See attached image.)
Not much energy for anything more but I’m there in spirit.
Regards,
W

Waz we are very privileged to be party to your experience and this friendship you give us that is so warm..
Where I live in SE Australia it has been very cold but I moved house recently and the new house is lovely. I have a yard and citrus and as I said somewhere else, the yard is like the one I grew up in “that goes all around the house”. 🙂

I have summoned all the gods of Olympus around your bed with very strict orders to tend to your every need -medical, culinary, lustful, whatever! Very strict orders given with dictatorial vigour, so I’m certain they’ll be obeyed and you’ll be back with us very soon, oozing splendid health, bursting with callories and beaming with post-coital smiles!
Go Waza!

Tough gig.
Not yet mid-winter, and already the somewhat dull toothbrush grevillea is starting to flower, brought to my attention by a pair of Eastern Rosellas feeding. For some reason they ignore the far showier Coconut Ice variety.

I know that you have some British (bulldog) blood in you. I am sure that it will stand you in good stead.
There are many songs dedicated to surviving; mainly relationships and heartbreak, so I won’t reference them. But a bit of music never goes astray. Listen to some favs, for a bit of a lift.
Wishing you well from Shanklin.

Keep fighting that dog off Waz, jeeze, look at his teeth. Oysters are supposed to enhance sexual performance but they never worked for me. Perhaps I put them on too soon.

Thanks for the update, Warrigal. You better get better real soon, otherwise Young Hung has to tell you another one his funny stories. See, he is our Dr Laughter even if he himself looks somewhat glum… 🙂

Dear Waz,
I don’t think that Mrs M will mind me telling you this, but she had chemotherapy for breast cancer about five years ago. She honestly felt like she was dying for three or four days every fortnight. This lasted for 12 weeks, then radiotherapy daily for a month. It was a fairly aggressive tumour so she qualified for a new drug, called Herceptin, which is an artificial antibody which binds to a receptor on the cell surface in skin and heart muscle, but, mainly HER2 positive breast cancers.Anyhoo, I won’t rave on, but she’s still on Herceptin, and still running around, which, we all sincerely hope that you’ll be doing in five, ten…………………..lot’s of years!
All the best from Mark and Bernadette.
