A great collection as always Waz
I found this little gem at the side of the The Sunrays Live for the sun clip. Some great ornamental instrument playing and the most pointless dancing. The girl second from the right couldn’t even dance.

I came to listen to the rest of the movie / TV series themes, but seeing the awful Abbott here, more undressed than dressed, has put me off my good intentions…sorry Waz.

VL, Greg Combet looks just fine in his usual attire, and to pacify you, I did not mind Turnbull wearing his leather jacket on QandA either 🙂

And yes, that is Skunk Baxter on Slide Steel, looking like he’s enjoying himself on an instrument he’s not known for.

Ah, ‘Albatross’… takes me right back to Bedford, England… which is where I first heard it… just around the same time I missed being there when Hendrix was there!

Good tidings as usual from Warrigal. Will Abbott be swept forward by a tsunami of world carbon taxes, trading markets opening up everywhere, overtaking pork belly futures? Carbon futures are being marketed already, most taking long positions.
I just loved that hypnotic tune from Callan. I am alos drawn to that Midsommer piece, rather nice, don’t you think?

Looking forward to playing some of these tomorrow, Warrigal… BTW, the ‘main theme’ to Callan is the ‘Harry Lime’ theme…
🙂

No, the Harry Lime theme from The Carol Reid movie “The Third Man”, based on Graham Greene’s book of the same name was played on a zither by a Greek musician, Anton Karas. The tune was apparently a variation on an exercise from a child’s “Big Notes for Little Fingers” kind of primer for junior musicians.
Great book, fabulous film.
Here’s the theme

Loved the movies ‘Paris,Texas’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’, the music brings them back vividly.
The English series ‘Callan’ was one of a kind, now it’s all silly repeats of crappy shows…we are going backwards.

PS. Abbott spoils the otherwise lovely picture …he’s certainly not going forward!

* “Among his early musical influences was his uncle, an ‘oud’ player performing belly dance music”.
You probably knew that about Dick Dale Warrigal. I saw a documentary on him about 3 years ago. The thing that stuck in mu mind was his JBL speaker. I’ve always revered them. Although I’ve just bought five Klipsch ceiling speakers for my TV & music, because of the smallness of the room. I’ll have to find a kind home for my floor (or wall on study brackets) JBL cabinets. My daughter I suppose. She’s the closest.
Dick Dale is wiz. Thanks.

‘STURDY’, brackets, of course, which I have, but no wall space.
They’ll probably end up in my son-in-laws’ Bali hut (the one who has the original decking business, whose link I posted.
God that was long winded.
What I really came back to say was how much I enjoyed this collection. I just played Knoppfler again.
I have’n touch and cannabis for over 37 years (even then only about 15 times, as I hated smoking)….but boy can I see how this tune (and the way it’s played), would go down a treat !! 🙂
