Great list Algy. While not a fan I do recognise that the Stones have written some of the best rock songs ever.

I’m like you Hung, they’re not my favourite either. It is their longevity that I was recognising here and they did write some great songs. Devos a great segway too.

Good show alge, funny it did not entice VL back to Pigs…
We visited some friends on Central Coast, it was a bit warmer there than here…had a nice seafood dinner at Patonga Pub, Sunday afternoon we went see our friend perform in a local choir, they were very good…
The temperature kept dropping as we drove home, I think it was down to five when we reached Bowal…
Where’s Emmjay ?

Must be at least 30 years since I had a meal t the Patonga Pub. Spent a new years eve there once the whole town and those visiting were involved. Emms about, he posts these for me, I think he and FM have some work currently.

Excellent list Algae! Still sounds as fresh as it did all those years ago… and it’s still the best rock’n’roll in the world!

It’s the guitar-driven blues tracks that really get to me… and of course, the bluesiness of their rock’n’roll, eg, ‘Brown Sugar’… there are just some blues tracks and riffs which are so perfect as to be quite timeless, and the Stones, I believe, can lay claim to having written more of these than most bands.

I think you very much succeeded in picking the best of the Stones. I love Start Me Up and Jumping Jack Flash took on new meaning with Whoopie Goldberg playing it over and over to find the clue. I then get visions of that blue dress gradually unravelling or her hilarious slippers.

They have had around 107 single released in 50 years, these tended to be the most popular by charts. Sympathy for the Devil is a favourite of mine. I’ll have to find the Woopie Goldberg.
It’s very quite here this weekend vivienne. Don’t know why, perhaps whole towns have been wiped of the face of the earth.

Can’t remember the name of the film but it is very enjoyable and funny – Whoopi at her best. Actually I think the film was called Jumpin’ Jack Flash.
The patrons can’t possibly be out gardening as the weather is pretty awful everywhere. Very cold here and light rain (or is it snow). Seems we have lost Voice, VL and Ato. The Pub isn’t the same without them.

Rather fresh here too compared to the last two days both about 20-21 degrees.
Don’t know what needs to be done to get them back, not sure why VL perhpas his stirring got too much for some and perhpas some home truths were pointed out to him, I’m not sure. Ato went and came back once before, he has put one post up that I can think of in relation to Asty. Perhaps they’ll come back in time as well as some others.

Have seen some little quips at the Drum from The Voice and Atomou, but nothing from VL, unless he is blogging under, hitherto, undisclosed pen-names.

I’ve noticed their brief appearances too. Another lousy day here – I’m going to have to be brave and go and chop some wood into kindling.

I have seen Feet Slipper on the Drum, he might also be using a different pseudonym..
I miss him.

The Feet is posting the odd post but doesn’t seem as active. Voice and Ato seem a little more active over at the drum.
