My comiserations Mike Jones and fond wishes for yours and your family’s peaceful recovery from the grievous stress it is to be sometimes so sad desperately it feels as if it will never end. Of course it never does end, simply makes new beginnings. Thank you for the kind post. I will preempt that when I advise my friends and family they will ask me to offer their love.
Mom had a very good innings, was a wonderful mother and grandmother and as you say, she is much loved. The last year was particularly difficult for her. She passed away quietly in her sleep last night and she is at peace.
FM, Emmlets and I would like to thank all our friends at the Arms for your kind thoughts, prayers and wishes.
Clearly loved and appreciated her grandchild and her own child/children. Lucky you. Not everyone has that joy in life. I envy you that. I am sure Barbara will have a lovely send off. Take care Mike.
Lehan if you look at the photo of the Color Run, the same Emmlet II, 22 years later is next to me . She looks amazingly like Mom when Mom was the same age. When Emm II had long wavy hair the resemblance was uncanny. I’ll post a photo of Mom and Dad on their wedding day soon. When I look in the mirror in the morning, it’s Dad who leaps out, but it could also be true that time tends to make both partners look alike. 🙂
Eighty nine is pretty a good age to go, not all of us will achieve that…she looks amazingly like you, or should I say, you look like her, our condolences.
If I remember right, when we first started blogging on Unleashed, you mum had just moved into age care…time flies for all of us….
Condolences Mike. And I empathise.
My mother goes under the knife today at The Heart hospital in Brisbane, with no certainty of her emerging from the theatre.

That’s so true, very often couples in old age start to resemble each other. 🙂
