Thanks again, for your fine efforts, Algy. And also for the playlist 🙂
Just kidding, but your choice of pictures so often transports me to very familiar historical territory. Because I am (as the Emmlets insist) a nerd, and have been implicated in scenes like the above, it takes a hard-hitting photograph to help me to realise the pain inflicted on hapless citizens in the name of “training”. Whips and chairs could hardly be more cruel. My sympathies especially to the guy up the back in the baseball cap….. bad day at Black Rock 🙂

The Emmlets actually say that I was a proto-nerd- that is, I was a nerd well before the term itself had even been coined. Nice ….

You almost had me thinking of last weeks picture with the ladies doing physical culture and wondering which one was you 🙂 . Junior was at a trivia night the other night a managed to win it, trivia is not his long suite by any stretch. But a large section was on computers, he was in his element. I like the tem proto. might even be appropriate musically.

Thanks for the memories Algernon. About Pleasure Dome: They used to play this track a lot in the clubs and discos very loud. One ought to listen to this music played on a good sound system; not very loud but just enough to enjoy it. I’m sure being a former DJ in the past you’ve seen better systems. A friend had a quadrophonic sound system back in those days, put together from different parts. Some parts were from Japan and some were from Europe, USA. The speakers alone cost a small fortune. The sound was amazing. Of course I never heard The Dark Side of the Moon coming out of those speakers like that ever again.
Aaahhh the Gordon Gekko years and The Pleasure Dome (sorry I just couldn’t help it) 🙂
