A fine time was had by the Ton Up Boys and Gals at the Annual Queen’s Birthday Throttle Roll – formerly at the Vic Enmore, but this year In Marrickville / Sydenham.
With a road closed for the event and local beers at $8 a pop and Jack Daniels and Coke at $12. Style apparently doesn’t come cheap.
Cool bands and way cool bikes !
Really lovely. I mean it.

Nice work, Emmlet II, what’s better than bikes n beer?
Is that an old Moto Guzzi Le Mans I see before me?

No, I think it’s a tinkered with Guzzi Mk7 – the current 750 (and such a disappointment relative to the old fire breathing 850 le Mans) There were a couple of those in the flesh… AND a beautifully restored Pantah 500 – same series as mine – but with a chromed Gianelli 2:1 copy exhaust. It was beautiful..
When I was talking with the owner, two more Pantah 500 owners showed up. We was a family for a while then 🙂

Those Le Mans were the Ducks Nuts, weren’t they? I remember them roaring about…haven’t seen one for years.
Must have been great for a Pantah man like yourself. I preferred the older, round case models, not that I ever owned one.
Took a look at an Austin Sheerline 1951 last week. Beautiful car, only 20 k, but needed about five to seven k just to bring it up to scratch, probably a motor out, body off chassis job, but she was bloody beautiful!

Big – I sense the care of a medico’s hands weaving their magic in some veteran metal pretty soon.
