It was somewhat ironic that I included Friday on my mind especially as George Young died yesterday. The list was prepared well beforehand. Some of the tunes are new. First aid Kit and the Sharon Jones tunes are new releases

Having said all that, Tutu and I decided that the best white female singer was Dusty Springfield and the best black female singer was Ella Fitzgerald.

If I had to go for a best guy singer without talking to Tutu it would be Nat King Cole and Michael Bubble.

For the record I have a Nat King Cole best of CD that is to die for for as for Bubble he just sings his style the best I’ve ever heard.

I thought Mick Buble magic when I heard his voice first time. Mel Torme was a vocal musician like none who endured and went strength to strength. Very young Frank Sinatra was a fabulous voice and what a pity he got entertaining the Las Vegas crowd instead of climbing to the stars. FS was a soulful actor when he was a young man as well. I was soaked in these voices for the first 5-8 years of my life. Paul Anka had a great voice.
Hard to beat Dusty eh. A lot of it is in production. I reckon the instrumental on this Atlanta Rhythm Spooky is amazing. Everything about the production of Dusty’s but… Darn, I said that.. 🙂

Mel Torme now there was a crooner. Some of his tunes are just timeless.

Just listened to these back to back great stuff. But Dusty will always be my favourite. Love the instrumental with the ARS clip.

What a soppy concert this is. I love it.
That darker haired girl from First Aid Kit has a to-die-for voice, hells bells.

I’m very much a fan of First Aid Kit, they’re only my kids age but what voices. Swedish indie girls singing Americana. One of them has a four octave voice. Lovely to listen to.

The dance routine and costuming on Johnny Horton’s GTBYTH is far out awesome. How about the muscle on them girls thighs. I love this big time. Thanks, algy. I’m sure I will really enjoy this list.
