Algy, I always love your disturbing pictures. I have to say that this one seems to take the Mardi-Gras theme one step too far. Maybe more than one step.
Great songlist too. I’m a big fan of surf rock and the Ventures are right up there – amongst a lot of Rockabilly haircuts and mod fashions.
If you’ve been over to Gez’ blog recently, the old photos show that he and the lovely Helvi were very hip mods in the 1960s.

I worked hard to find this one. The ciggie what done it for me. Yes I don’t mind this list at all.
One thing is the title is 1960, you can guess what next weeks is.
I’ve been over to Gez’s blog occasionally but not commenting, yes they were very modish.

Cool song-list Algae… ‘specially liked the Big ‘O’ and the Shadows’ Apache… just learned how to play that one myself… Tricky pieces… simple enough licks, but all those string-crossing triplets! The Ventures also covered this song, too, but some might say they ‘gilded the lily’ just a tad… 😉

I was surprised to find out that Only the Lonely was released in 1960, I always thought a few years later
