I have been watching A Bridge of Spies on and off during the day which is a rough tale of power taken for granted and meted on the heads of Mark Rylance who plays Abel, the accused Cold War spy and Tom Hanks as Donovan, the lawyer selected to defend him. I recall the year, 1957 as I was thinking I was 7 years old and a little mushroom.
“Shoe, I work with a German chap who lived and worked not far from the bridge in question. He said that the movie captured the gestalt of the times and the physical environment incredibly well.
