Of course in those days Capt. Chook would have been listening to Double J, The Hero of The Dial at 1540kc’s on the good old AM band, probably presented by Chris Winter, or maybe Sam Collins, or Holger Brockman, (perhaps also know by his prior 2SM “on air” identity, Bill Drake). He of the famous, “You Just Like Me ’cause I’m Good In Bed”. Which is most likely what the master mariner was bopping to on the quarterdeck. It’s still on the jukebox at The Bell in Wapping; his wife’s dad’s pub. Apparently true, because the Chook managed to father 6 kids. Not bad for a bloke who was away navigating for most of their marriage.
And “yes Virginia there really is a 2JJ” read the sign at the top of the stairs off the door on Forbes street.
Ah halcyon days of yore, when the sky was always blue, the joints were always lit and the turntables were always spinning.

Holger Brockman, I seem to remember him playing the same record over and over because he stoned. Memories.
Then on the other hand before Captain Chook left the Old Dart, I suspect he listened to Pirate Radio.
