Took me a little to work out what the hell is sticking out from the hip of the cowboy.
I’ve got it it’s his hand. 🙂
The end of the log seems to be casting a round shadow onto his crotch or is that a spreading stain where he’s weed himself with excitement.
Being onto the mystery of the mysterious bag, which g-o-s-h is mysterious indeed especially when I then stared fixedly at the log attempting to establish what manner of mysterious bag IS it. Ah one that comes to us in the form of …a log.
Ah, the caption above this grinning mite’s head needs to spell it out.
“Hey, here, dad, put another log on the fire. The heat will dry out your pants.”
“Do you think we should open the mysterious bag, son? You’ve got right ideas.”
“I think we oughter. There might be a pair of tight cowboy jeans in it that are just your right fit and howzabout you change out of those ones, seeing as I got to get some sleep tonight. It’s like good fences clean jeans. Ones that doan smell like old raccoon pissed hisself.”
“I doan piss myself. I tell a lie, son. I done gone and pissed myself once. See there was this big old …”
“Let’s get the fire in the big fireplace lit so we can settle down to a good night of jawing. I go and get the rest of the tree. You better get ahead and open the mysterious bag.”
” Good idea, son. Any idea what it looks like, son?”
“Never seen it. That’s what makes it mysterious.”
“Doan know where you get your brains from, son.”
“Pretty sure it’s my mother’s side of the family, dude.”

There is a common belief that the riff from “Smoke on the Water” is the most well known in modern pop music…but back in my very youth, it was the opening bars from the theme for “Peter Gunn”..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5C_ADicu7M

Many could fit into the most well know. The the brass section I think makes the Peter Gunn Theme

It was more the absurdity of the photo and the innuendo implied that led me to its inclusion. I’m always on the lookout for bizarre covers

Yes..I’m afraid our generation’s more sardonic view on reality overshadows that period’s hunger for a kind of absurd innocence after the wars….Some of those Cowboy series and other nonsensical bizarro flicks were way out there in fantasy land..You wonder how they had the moxxy to try it on like they did!..Maybe they were all on cocaine..

As a baby-boomer, I remember the revolution we had against the phony exaggerations of the heroics of many of those confected movies and stars of the era..I remember my own “breakaway” from that 50’s era and once I did, there was no stopping me..perhaps what is needed these times is another “revolution”…
