Algy I found an infestation like this on Hellebores – winter roses two weeks after I planted them. Fortunately pyrethrum killed them and the plants survived and recovered – which is good for plants costing $20 a Pop.
I check the real roses every day. And squish aphids if the numbers are few. Sadly the natural predators – ladybugs 🐞 do not seem capable of keeping up with the supply.
We had one of them once but traded it for a Honda Civic.

We had a gold and green bug problem on our Lilly Pillys and it kicked their combined arse in one application.
